Preparing for a Minecraft Birthday Party
Hello! So you have a child who is a huge fan of Minecraft and you are looking to set up a Minecraft-based Virtual Birthday party. That is great! This guide will walk you through the process of making sure the event is a success.
1) Check availability with your guests.
Ensuring a child’s friends can attend is a central part of a great party. Ask the parents of your child’s friends if they can do the weekend day before or after the child’s birthday. The party will last a little over an hour and we suggest hosting it around noon local time. This seems to be a time that fits into parent’s schedules.
If you want to do this with a large number of guests, using a Doodle can make that easier.
2) Determine which version of Minecraft you will be using.
After you have figured out a time and date that works for most of your guests, now it is time to select the version of Minecraft you will be using. There are two main versions of Minecraft (Bedrock & Java) and for the children to be able to join the same server and play together, they need to be on the same version.
Here is a guide to determine what version of Minecraft you are using: Minecraft Bedrock or Java?

Commonly, a group of children will have selected the same version to play on so that they can join the same servers as their friends.
3) Learn about what the Birthday child likes to do in Minecraft.
From battling Creepers to building Cake Houses, there are a lot of different ways you can play Minecraft. Here are some questions to ask the birthday child.
What do you like doing most in Minecraft?
Do you like building houses or forts?
Do you like escape rooms?
Do you like battling Zombies?
Knowing what the birthday child likes doing, helps us customize the event for them.
4) Reserve your event.
You can book online by using our Online Scheduling Tool.
If a time that you want is not available, please get in contact with us.
5) A week before the event, forward the invite around to the other parents.
The week before your reserved event, we will send you an email to forward to the parents of your guests. This email will include the video conferencing link, Minecraft server address, and directions on how to join the server.
If they have any questions, they will be able to email us with questions.
6) Consider if you want to send party favors or deliver goodies.
If you have time before the event, sending party favors to attendees can be a lot of fun.
Here are some ideas for Minecraft Decorations and Party Favors.
7) Get your child’s tech set up.
Now that everything is set up, let’s double-check your child's technology is working. The day before the event, try to join the video call and the Minecraft server.
This way there will be plenty of time to resolve any technology issues that arise.
8) Have fun & document the party.
On the big day, now it is time to relax and let your Fun Captain ensure that everyone has a great time at the party. About 30 minutes into the call, we will have time to sing happy birthday, in case you want to have your cameras ready :)
